SUMMIT, An Earth Services Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join the Summit Decommissioning Services (SDS) Team as a Lead Crew Hand (Competition #18-09-0250). This position will be predominately field work based out of our Brooks, AB office.

 

JOB DUTIES:

 

You will carry out your duties in consultation with the Field Level Supervisor (FLS) on all matters. The primary duties may include: supporting the FLS with day to day on-site job tasks, being an efficient and reliable member of the field crew to lead the job to completion in a safe and timely fashion; provide guidance, leadership and instruction to laborers, ensuring all safety policies and procedures are followed and safety documents are completed; submit daily reports and field tickets at the end of the day, organize and assist in loading and mobilizing equipment and tools onto site, operate the internal cutting tool (ICT), perform picker, hoisting and rigging operations, pressure vessel repair/alteration, caisson entry, remove pigging facility from pipeline riser, taping, stringing pipes and shrinking sleeves. You may also be responsible forremoval/replacement of PSV’s, manual valve operation, install/remove ofbolted/threaded connections, ditching, making ROW, ground excavation with hand tools, pigging, pressure piping, trenching/excavating, confined space entry, grinder use, and various other duties.

You will be supported by the entire Summit organization which consists of a dynamic team of technical administrators, business development professionals, and an in-house IT department and many other highly experienced, skilled and educated Professionals.

Candidates must be prepared to work in a multidisciplinary, fast paced project team environment and able to undertake a variety of project related tasks, deadlines and ability to work and/or travel in varied terrains, weather conditions and isolated locations.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Engineering technical diploma or equivalent is considered an asset

  • A minimum of 3 years' direct experience in Oilfield and Abandonment Services,

    Oil and Gas, and/or Energy and Utilities industry

  • Valid class 5 driver’s license and clean drivers abstract

  • Possess exceptional understanding of safety processes/tools and hazard

    recognition

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Equipment operating experience
