Russel Orcutt, B.Sc. 

Founder & President. 

Russel Orcutt is an experienced President with a demonstrated history of working in the environmental services industry with over 24 years of experience. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Lethbridge. Mr. Orcutt has a strong business management acumen and is skilled in petroleum, sustainable development, environmental issues, environmental awareness, agriculture and construction. Russel started working in the environmental field in 1994 and became General Manager of a publicly traded company until 2005 before founding Summit Liability Solutions Inc. As Director, Russel helped found Earth Fluids Inc. in 2012, a respected drilling fluid services company, operating in Western Canada and Australia. In addition, As President in 2015 founded Summit’s Australian subsidiary, SLS Environmental Pty Ltd., performing consulting and assessments down under. Most recently, in 2017, the acquisition and vertical integration of Summit Decommissioning Services, for wellhead, pipeline, and small facility deconstruction and maintenance. Optimizing Summit’s value proposition through service excellence, strategic integrations, collaboration and innovation is his purpose.


 

Mike Bowie, B.Sc.

Founder & Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Mike Bowie is a diversified environmental and business management professional with over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas and finance sectors. Mr. Bowie’s primary responsibilities include managing the company's finances, acquisitions and long-term business development. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies from Augustana University College. Mr. Bowie has a strong background in oil and gas liability management, reclamation and remediation. His experience includes environment, health and safety management of both on-shore and off-shore programs and senior management experience of publicly traded and private companies. In addition, Mike helped found Earth Fluids Inc. in 2012, a respected drilling fluid services company, operating in Western Canada and Australia.


 

Jeff Carratt

Founder & Vice President, Business Development and Marketing

Jeff Carratt is a business development and marketing professional with over 23 years oil and gas experience. His primary responsibilities include key account and sales team management as well as marketing and brand development. Mr. Carratt is experienced and knowledgeable in oil and gas market with a focus on environmental services and assessments, pipeline, facility and wellbore decommissioning services. Mr. Carratt plays a key role in evaluation, integration and brand development of Summit’s acquisitions and companies launched under the Summit Group of Companies. In 2012, Jeff helped found Earth Fluids Inc., a respected drilling fluid services company, operating in Western Canada and Australia. In 2015, Mr. Carratt and his partners founded SLS Environmental Services, Summit’s Australian sister company. Summit acquired Meridian Environmental Consultants in 2016 where Mr. Carratt focused on client and service integration. More recently, in 2017, Jeff has played a key role in the acquisition and vertical integration of Summit Decommissioning Services, for wellhead, pipeline, and small facility decommissioning. Mr. Carratt has focused his career on developing long-term client relationships built on trust, honesty and integrity. His roles include market evaluation, contract negotiation, sales and marketing, brand development and business management. Over the last 5 years he has focused on integrating and unifying the services, sales culture and brand equity of Earth Fluids, Summit Decommissioning Services, SLS Environmental Services and Meridian Environmental Consulting as part of Summit’s growth through acquisitions and new startups.


Jason Pecht

Founder & Vice President, Drilling Operations and Assessments 

Jason Pecht is an environmental professional with a diverse career spanning 23 years in the drilling waste management and reclamation services industry. His primary responsibilities include technical guidance, operations and business management. Mr. Pecht is a drilling waste regulatory compliance expert who has helped develop the regulatory framework through his involvement in the Directive 050 working groups. In addition to his Canadian expertise, Jason has helped develop and implement drilling waste regulations, guidelines and operations in Australia through the launch of SLS Environmental Services Pty based out of Brisbane, Australia. Mr. Pecht helped found Earth Fluids Inc. in 2012 and provides technical environmental support to this group.

 

Robin Weseen

Founder & Vice President, Enivornmental Services and Assessments 

Robin Weseen is a Professional Agrologist, registered in Alberta, with 18 years in the environmental consulting sector. Mr. Weseen has a Bachelor of Education in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Environmental Science both from the University of Saskatchewan. Mr. Weseen’s responsibilities include business management and supervision of the operations and technical guidance groups. Robin helped found Earth Fluids Inc. in 2012, a respected drilling fluid services company, operating in Western Canada and Australia. Since 2012, Mr. Weseen has focused on the acquisition and integration of Meridian Environmental Consulting Ltd. a remediation and risk management company into Summit’s existing framework.
