SUMMIT, An Earth Services Company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced project manager to join the Summit Decommissioning Services (SDS) Division as a Senior Project Manager (Competition #26-03-0745) in the Calgary, Alberta office. This position will report directly to the Vice President, Summit Decommissioning Services.

Job Duties:

In consultation with the Vice President, SDS. your primary duties include but are not limited to:

  • Planning, executing, monitoring and controlling projects in the oil and gas industry (facility and pipeline decommissioning including pipeline repair), with potential of expanding into renewables

  • Providing direction and support to the Site Supervisors that control the work and work phases;

  • Gathering and analyzing project metrics to measure project performance and implement corrective action;

  • Reporting project progress and status to the client and the Vice President, SDS;

  • Liaising with the client as direct point-of-contact;

  • Conflict resolution;

  • Overseeing change management and quality processes on behalf of SDS;

  • Representing Summit during discussions with internal and external clients; and,

  • Consultation and engagement with members of an expert, multi-disciplinary technical team for project support when necessary. 

You will be supported by the entire Summit organization which consists of a dynamic team of technical administrators, business development professionals, an in-house IT department and many other highly experienced, skilled and educated professionals.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum 7 years of relevant experience in oil & gas facility decommissioning, pipeline abandonment and pipeline repair/maintenance

  • Experience managing a minimum of 8 direct reports and teams of 40 people or more;

  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail;

  • Effective interpersonal and leadership skills;

  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills;

  • Strong computer skills and experience with project management software; and

  • Confident, capable and productive in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced project team environment.

The following are considered an asset

  • Experience with ISO 9001 QMS;

  • Project Management Professional Certification.
